CHURCHES FERRY, N.D. (KFGO KDLR) – Five rail cars left the tracks and another partially derailed north of Churches Ferry near Devils Lake late Wednesday morning.
Ramsey County Sheriff Bryan Lang said it appears there was an issue with the tracks or the ground beneath the tracks. It happened in a swampy area.
Lang said the train was carrying grain. BNSF Railway crews and a cleanup company went to work to recover the spilled grain and get the rail cars upright. Lang said he doesn’t know how many rail cars were part of the train, but he said it was quite lengthy.
There were no reports of injury.
