UNDERWOOD, Minn. (KFGO) – Firefighters from Underwood and Battle Lake responded to a cabin fire near Phelps Mill north of Underwood early Thursday morning.
Underwood Fire Chief John Frie says the call came in shortly after midnight.
Frie says it appears the fire was electrical and it is not considered suspicious. He says the two people and pets in the cabin got out safely. He says fire damage was contained to one part of the cabin, but there was smoke damage throughout the cabin. The blaze was on County Highway 45.
Otter Tail County deputies also responded along with a deputy state fire marshal who is stationed in Battle Lake.
