ST. PAUL, Minn. – Legislation prompted by ticket problems with Taylor Swift’s 2022 “Eras” tour is headed to the desk of Gov. Tim Walz after the Minnesota Senate passed it Monday on a vote of 35-29.
Mendota Heights Democrat Matt Klein’s bill requires ticket sellers disclose total cost, including fees, throughout the purchase process.
Resellers and on-line marketplaces would not be allowed to sell more than one copy of a ticket, nor could they sell tickets before they’re available to be sold. The legislation also has new guards to reduce the impact of bots.
Klein says the legislation will protect Minnesota consumers and ensure a fairer system for everyone.
